From sunny summers in Greece to magic winters in Japan!
This year, I'm taking Kaldera Photography to Japan. After years shooting at the blue domes of Oia in Santorini, this December I'm shooting in Japan. The last autumn leaves, winter illuminations, neon-lit streets, your own home. Your Japan, photographed in the places that feel like you.

- Trips to JapanThis is my 4th
This will be my fourth trip to Japan, after 2008, 2017 and 2019. I also spent a season working in Hakuba, so Japan holds a special place for me. Every year in Santorini I photograph many guests from Japan, and those sessions are always among my favourite memories.
This time it isn't a holiday photo. We shoot in places where you can feel Japanese culture and your everyday life: your neighbourhood, a favourite place you often go, the neon glow of Shinjuku or Shibuya, Yoyogi Park, one of Japan's famous landmarks. The same natural, relaxed atmosphere as in Santorini.
During the shoot, I guide you on poses and movement in English and simple Japanese.
The right moment never seemed to come, until now. This year I feel it's time to start: to capture the beauty of Japan together with the people who call it home. I'd love for you to be part of that very first step.

From our Japanese clients
★★★★★We booked only two days before, but he sent careful messages in Japanese, so we felt at ease going into the day. He changed the time to suit the weather, which we really appreciated. A lifelong memory of our honeymoon.
Emi, GetYourGuide (translated from Japanese)

Inosuke, Google (translated from Japanese)
★★★★★He also understood Japanese and was very kind. He took us to amazing spots I didn't even know about, and explained the poses kindly. Thank you so much.

GetYourGuide traveler from Japan
★★★★★Despite the area being very crowded, they took us to a location very close to the famous Blue Domes. Nikola could also speak a little Japanese, which made communication very easy, and he gave us lots of helpful guidance on posing.
Mako Saito, Google
★★★★★He led the shoot in such a relaxed atmosphere that even we, who aren't used to being photographed, really enjoyed it. He knows so many lovely photo spots we could never have found ourselves. We're very happy with the results!

Questions
Can you shoot outside Tokyo?
Yes. I'm based in Tokyo and will travel to other parts of Japan during the trip. Tell me where you are.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. We agree on how to pay by message.
Which app can I use to reach you?
WhatsApp, Viber, iMessage or email, whichever you prefer. LINE is coming soon.
Can we talk in Japanese?
Yes. I write in Japanese with the help of translation tools, and English works just as well.
I don't have a kimono. Is that a problem?
Not at all. I can recommend a rental shop. The rental is paid separately from the session.
What if it rains?
Rain is welcome. Reflections on wet streets give photos amazing depth, and umbrellas make lovely props. If you would still rather move the date, just tell me.
Do locations need a permit?
Some parks and shrines require one for photography. I choose locations that don't, or check the requirements in advance.
Can I pay in yen?
Prices are set in euros and the yen amounts are a guide. We agree on the payment method by message.
Already photographed with me in Santorini?
This year I'm taking Kaldera Photography to Japan, and sessions are limited. Past clients receive a private offer by message. If friends or family might love a session, please share this page with them.
I hope to see you in Japan!
Yes, this is me back in 2017, when I was thin and had long hair and a beard!
